This Season Too Shall Pass.

There’s nothing more defeating than being in a season where you are constantly bombarded with obstacles, heartache and pain. You know the type of season I’m taking about. The one where loved ones pass away, friends become ill, relationships are torn apart, trust is broken, finances are scarce, work is stressful, your anxiety is elevated – and everything seems to be falling apart.

I’ve always found that anything worth achieving always will have obstacles in the way and you’ve got to have that drive and determination to overcome those obstacles on route to whatever it is that you want to accomplish.

Any one of these events on its own is enough to put a strain on anyone, but the combination of multiple trials quickly becomes overwhelming for even the toughest people. And that’s okay. It’s okay to admit you’re in a season of hardship and that there’s multiple obstacles standing in your way.

Obstacles are necessary for success, because in selling, as in all careers of importance, victory comes only after many struggles and countless defeats.

These are the seasons where every ounce of our heart, mind and soul are put to the test. No one asks for this – but at some point we all go through these seasons – some worse and more painful than others, but difficult just the same. This too shall pass though. These are the seasons where we scrape together every ounce of strength in our bones and it often surpasses whatever amount we thought we had.

When we long for life without difficulties, remind us that oaks grow strong in contrary winds and diamonds are made under pressure.

This is the rare opportunity that people often search for, but never realize what exactly entails. It is the opportunity to be shaped and molded from something ordinary into something extraordinary, but it isn’t gentle like mushing play-doh. It is an intense pressure combined with extreme heat that forces carbon-nothingness to become a diamond. It is all of the chaos, frustrations and heartaches that make us into something beautiful. Something unique.
